Xia YANG
After having completed brilliant studies in Germany, double bassist Xia Yang is currently a double bass professor at the Xi'an Conservatory (China).
Doctoral performer at the State University of Music and Theater Munich, Germany
In 2001, he was admitted to the Xi'an Conservatory of Music and studied under Yang Hongye.
In 2004, he entered the National University of Music and Performance in Frankfurt, Germany, with the famous German double bassist Günter Klaus.
In 2007 he entered the State University of Music and Performance in Mannheim with Heinrich Braun, double bassist and director of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
In 2008 he was employed as a teaching assistant at the State University of Music and
Mannheim show.
In 2010 he received a Master's degree from the State University of Music and Theater in Mannheim. The same year, he was admitted to the University of Music and Theater in Munich.
During his stay in Germany, he studied with many master performers such as Klaus Stoll and Nabil Shehata. He has given several dozen solo concerts, notably in Heidelberg, Mannheim, Munich, Wiesbaden and Frankfurt in Germany, and has received praise from music critics in many countries.
Returning to China in 2013, he is a professor at the Xi'an Conservatory of Music. During his teaching career, his students won numerous awards. After graduation, his students studied abroad at prestigious schools such as the Berlin University of the Arts, the Lübeck State Conservatory of Music, and the Saarbrücken State Conservatory of Music.
